As you may have already heard (or read), Cancun is through a wave of sargassum. This is a type of seaweed, and its smell is not the best thing in the world. Local industries organized summits to establish new mechanisms for the treatment of this seaweed. The Hotel Industry is already putting a lot of effort into eradicating every piece of sargassum from Cancun, but as a natural phenomenon, its arrival continues. However, you may not stop traveling to Cancun because of this. There are numerous affected beaches, and to help you identify which ones specifically, we have compiled the following list of Cancun beaches without sargassum.
Playa Las Perlas (Pearls Beach)

Located in km 2,5 of Kukulcan Boulevard (commonly referred to as the Hotel Zone). This small beach area is publicly accessible. It is one of the first beaches to find when taking the Kukulcan Boulevard from the city. Lots of locals come here thanks to its short distance from the city. Sportists visit this beach really often. Here, you will find beach chairs and umbrella rentals, as well as fried fish and other nice local dishes. It is an excellent place to work out, do yoga, swim, or run. As there are practically no waves, it is ideal for families with young children. It has a parking lot, children’s playground, showers, restrooms, and access for wheelchairs. If you want to work out, we recommend being there before 9:00 am. After this time, bathers start arriving to enjoy the sun and the sea.
Location
Playa Langosta (Lobster Beach)

Right beside a dock, this beach, even though it is one of the most visited in the Hotel Zone, is clean, tranquil, and relaxing. It is a bit more spacious than its sister “Las Perlas”. It has a little ‘square’ where you will find the famous “CANCUN” sign, where a lot of tourists stop to take a photo for the memories. So, as “Las Perlas”, this beach has public dressing rooms, showers, and bathrooms, everything clean and functional. It also has a parking lot and a children’s playground. Occasionally, you will find walking food sellers, from whom you could get some local delicacies. The fact is that you should be careful about what you eat; we don’t want you to get sick and lose energy for the rest of your vacation.

Location
Playa Tortugas (Turtle Beach)

From all the beaches without sargassum in this list, Playa Tortugas is the most visited by tourists, thanks to its location in the Hotel Zone. Here, you will find bungee, restaurants, and ferries departing to Isla Mujeres. It is, very possibly, the second most visited beach of the whole Hotel Zone. Same as the two others, it has public services such as showers, restrooms, children’s playground, and beach chairs and umbrellas rental. As it is a departing port to Isla Mujeres, this beach has a lot of activity during most of the day. Be aware of sellers, as these have developed some “tricks” to convince you at any cost to buy them a tour or whatever they are selling. Most of them will walk away with the typical ‘No, thank you’, but there will be some others who will insist. You are in your human right to just ignore them or say no with your head without pronouncing even a word (so they won’t feel ‘well received’).
